QUICK REVIEW

Another fantastic read!! Book 4 is full of plot twists a-plenty! The Syndicate runs so deep, every time I think I have something figured out something new comes up or changes and I'm back to the drawing board. I feel like this book is the 'lightest' in the series so far, and I think that's mainly due to Zee's character and her bubbly personality, but I can feel things getting darker...book 5 is going to be crazy.

Writing & Plot

Again, flawless. Truly these books are written so well. You are captivated from the get go.

I was worried about the 'amnesia' element as I'm not a huge fan of that trope, but since it wasn't the focus, and it's subtly, yet importance was written so well I didn't mind it at all. It had a purpose in the plot. I think it also made Alpha as a character more interesting. I feel like there's still al lot about him that we don't know.

This is an example of why this series is so good because even though the next book focuses on two different characters, you still want to read more not only because of the plot-line but because there's so much more about these characters to get to know. Their stories do not end, at the end of each book.

Characters

L.O.V.E. Love a curvy FMC. I related to so many of the thoughts and experiences she went through and I hope I find my own Alpha one day who makes me feel beautiful because of my curves and not despite them. Zee is ballsy AF, like the confidence of this women is insane and I'm totally jealous of it. The way her mind runs a mile a minute is so endearing.

I knew I'd love Alpha from because he has three German Shepherds. Actually, let's take a minute to appreciate the dogs. Bear, Bandit, and Baron. I love them. Bear is our cuddly ball of fluff, Bandit steals socks and underwear, and Baron is the definition of a permeant eye roll hahaha. I loved getting to see him and Dante start to connect as brothers. Alpha is more stand-offish compared to Dante when it comes to family, so seeing Alpha really open himself up to it was heart warming.

Finding out they were in love ten years prior and then he was attacked and just disappeared and Zee had no clue why, and that he doesn't have any memory of those few months was heart breaking. As mentioned above, I was worried about the 'amnesia' element, but it was done well. I think it added an element of mystery to his character which helped flesh out who he is in this world making his character feel more real. Something I wonder (and I'm hoping for) is if he'll eventually get all his memories of Zee back. I hope his attack and the amnesia surrounding that is explored more in book five and/ or six.

AND THE IDENTITY OF THE SERIAL KILLER. I WAS LIKE WHAT...! HECTOR. NO. It honestly did not cross my mind even once, that it could've been him. To be honest I'm as shocked as Alpha. I'm still like, huh? But, man, what a reveal. My heart was beating so fast. Morana getting shot, Zen and Zee bring taken, the reveal of Hector as the crazy serial killing creep and then...

Zen's reveal of who she actually is FLOORED me, but from what Hector said it gives me hope Luna is alive and I'm pretty sure she's likely going to be the FMC in book five (and since book five is the Shadow Man's book and that means he and Luna will be a couple, I cannot and I mean CANNOT wait for Tristan's reaction hahahaha).

Zen's death though... I cried. I'm not ashamed. I balled like a baby. The way Zee's holding her and Zen's thanking her for being the best sister... Nope. Nope, stopping now cause I'll cry again.
