Twisted Games (Book 3 of The Boys of Briar Hall series by Elena Lawson) was a fantastic read full of dark and dangerous moments that made it completely addictive. With every chapter, the stakes got higher and the twists got wilder, keeping me glued to the page long past midnight. The secrets unravel, the relationships deepen, and the tension... Off the charts. This instalment pulls no punches. Ava Jade continues to prove she's a total badass, while the boys—Corvus, Rook, and Grey—show more layers than ever before. And that ending?! I’m still recovering. If you love morally grey characters, twisted secrets, and all the steam, Twisted Games delivers in every way.

Writing & Plot:

Elena Lawson seriously outdid herself with this one. The pacing is perfect, with just enough breathers between the chaos to let you brace for the next hit. The writing is raw and emotional, with lines that will punch you in the gut one minute and make you swoon the next. The plot twists are jaw-dropping, unpredictable, and exactly what a dark romance should be. Every thread that’s been weaving through the story since book one starts tightening, and by the end? You’ll be questioning everything.

I mean, come one, the stalker reveal??!! AHHHHHHH. I KNEW something was off with him, but still—chills. The way Elena handled that buildup was masterful. You think you know what’s coming, and then she rips the rug out from under you. It was SO. WELL. DONE.

Character Development:

Ava Jade continues to be one of my favourite FMCs—fierce, flawed, and so deeply loyal. Her journey in this book is intense, both emotionally and physically, and you can feel her resilience bleeding off the page.

The boys? Whew.

Corvus’ past? Heart-wrenchingly heartbreaking. He’s always been a mystery, but this book cracked him wide open in the best (and most devastating) way.

Rook… I’m super worried. His darkness is getting darker, and I can’t tell if he’s spiralling or evolving...and I can't tell which option would be worse lol.

And then there’s Grey... What happened to him...Oh my god. My heart hurts. That moment was brutal, and I’m still not over it.

And shout out to Becca! Our sweet cinnamon roll finally found her voice! Becca standing up for herself was such a powerful moment. She’s grown so much, and I love how Elena gave her that moment.

I also have to mention...

THAT ENDING? INSANE. I had to physically close the book and take a breath. Can't wait to dive into book 4 the finale of the series!
